About Us

For more than 60 years, Franklin Heights Church has been a rock solid testimony to Rocky Mount and the surrounding communities that God has called us to reach. But, our story is still unfolding as God continues to grow our church toward His purpose. We can’t wait to see what he does next!

Franklin Heights church is a part of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC).

Our Story

Planted as a mission of Rocky Mount Baptist Church in 1958, Franklin Heights began life as an official church in 1960 with 64 charter members and a deep conviction that the Bible is God’s Word and Jesus Christ must be Lord. Blessed with steady growth over the years, we now meet on three campuses across Franklin County.

In 2011, God gave our leadership the vision to plant ministry locations throughout our region and beyond. Each of our campuses will still be an integral part of Franklin Heights Church but will differ in size, worship style, and atmosphere. Our CrossPointe ministry was the very first campus of this movement. Our newest campus, Franklin Heights Español, opens in the Fall of 2023.

Strategies

gather-768x171

Every Sunday we strive to create a culturally relevant environment that allows people to get excited as they gather for an experience with our Lord. The act of gathering brings us together to hear the stories of how God is at work in the lives of our people; it gives us inspiration and helps us to grow in knowledge, grace and wisdom of the Lord. It is also a time of renewal and recharging which allows us to take our faith walk with Christ and incorporate it into our daily lives. Find out more about our worship services.

“They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”  Jeremiah 17:8 (NIV)

“Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:46-47 (NIV)
